ICL7663SAIBAZA is a voltage regulator of the ‘Linear’ type, which is one of the most reliable and widely used type in the “Power Management IC” (PMIC) family. This voltage regulator has been specially designed for applications, which require an accurate output voltage with low power consumption. The ICL7663SAIBAZA voltage regulator features a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V and an output voltage range of 2.5V to 28V. The switching frequency range of this PMIC is adjustable and can extend up to 2MHz, making it suitable for high frequency applications too.This PMIC has a very low quiescent current consumption and its maximum output current is guaranteed at 1Amps. It is designed to have a very low dropout voltage of 0.2V at 1A load current and 0.5V at 0.5A load current. The working principle of the ICL7663SAIBAZA is based on linear technology, which is also the basis of most of the power management ICs available on the market. Linear voltage regulation uses as a feedback loop which senses the output voltage of the regulator with a precision reference voltage and compares it with a desired output voltage.
