Its integrated approach includes a high-performance oscillator, frequency synthesis, and a feedback circuitry, which is used to deliver clock outputs at frequencies up to 20 kHz. The ICS650R-21 allows the user to rapidly change the frequency without any tuning or additional components, saving the time, cost, and space constraints associated with other solutions.The ICS650R-21, using analog signal and digital signal processing, can generate a wide variety of clock signals with selectable frequencies and timing accuracies. It is available in both surface mount and through-hole versions, making it compatible with a wide range of applications. The ICS650R-21 has a minimum jitter of 2 ps RMS and a maximum output frequency of 20kHz. This makes it suitable for applications requiring impressing high speed data, such as medical imaging and high definition video.The ICS650R-21 \'s working principle is based on a reference clock signal, a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), a phase-detector (PD), and a loop filter. The on-chip reference oscillator generates an input reference clock signal to the PD. The VCO produces an output signal frequency which is compared to the input reference clock by the PD. Any difference between the two signals is then filtered by the loop filter. The resulting signal is then input to the VCO to adjust its frequency so that the output signal becomes proportional to the reference clock.The ICS650R-21\'s multi-function feature ensures that the output clock signal can be selected from a variety of output types with different frequency accuracies.
