The PLL architecture in the ICS671M-03ILFT is based on a Charge Pump, which provides the flexibility to accommodate a variety of reference and output frequencies. The circuit starts with a reference oscillator, then uses a Divider/Multiplier to convert the reference frequency to the desired output frequency. The Division/Multiplication ratio is set by a programmable N-Divider register that can be divided into 256 different segments. This is then phase-locked using a phase-frequency detector, which helps to ensure that the output frequency is in lock with the reference frequency.
