Working Principle
The ICS9170B-02CS08LFT uses advanced approach Frequency Synthesizer architecture to synthesize ultra-low jitter clock frequencies from a low-speed reference clock input. It performs automatic bypassing of the reference clock for fail-safe operation and also includes frequency measurement capabilities.
The ICS9170B-02CS08LFT employs multiple digital PLLs (DPLLs) and advanced digital filters to generate low-jitter clock outputs from low-frequency reference clocks. The device features a reconfigurable differential output stage with programmable voltage swing (0~3Vp-p). It can be used to generate up to eight clock outputs with different frequencies ranging from 10 MHz to 600 MHz.
The ICS9170B-02CS08LFT also comes with on-chip non-volatile memory that can be programmed with various settings to provide additional flexibility. The device can be programmed with up to 128 unique settings and has a wide operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C making it suitable for a variety of high-temperature applications.
The ICS9170B-02CS08LFT also comes with an embedded bus controller for I&O control and communication. It multiplexed support for I2C, SPI and JTAG for interface communication. Additionally, it features an on-chip single supply voltage monitor and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCXO).
