Applications of IL612-2 Digital Isolator
The IL612-2 digital isolator combines a logic circuit built on a digital IC and two high speed Isolation Amplifier (or Isolation Amplifier) chips, and is a high-performance, isolated switch-mode digital isolator. It is suitable for transferring digital signals of various control systems in multi-channel and multi-module communication systems, which can be used for isolating the transmitted signal from interference and ensuring the reliability of the transmitted signal. Working Principle of IL612-2 Digital Isolator
The main principle of IL612-2 digital isolator operation is based on the transfer of signal power from the IA chip to the control IC via two sets of gallium arsenide optics, hence the term \'optical coupling\'. The primary side of the IA chip is powered by a DC voltage, the full drive of which generates an optical signal of about -12 to +12V, which is then transferred to the secondary side. On the secondary side, the optical signal is converted to corresponding logic levels by the internal microcomputer.
The IA chip is also powered by a different input voltage independent from the primary side; the optical signal is then passed through to the secondary side via a variety of path lengths and directions, depending on the device’s design. After conversion, the logic level signal will be fed to the output pins of the device. To further ensure isolating function, the design incorporates an LM292 high-speed optocoupler in the feedback loop connecting both sides. This device is only used in IL612-2 digital isolator, and it can provide a higher level of signal isolation and significantly reduce the potential for errors in communication.
