The current flow back to the collector through the collector-emitter junction of the phototransistor.

As the ILD615-3X017 is made up of two different parts, it is able to provide complete isolation of the two circuits from each other. This means that any noise or electrical interference from the two circuits is prevented from entering the other, making the optoisolator ideal for applications in which circuit isolation and interference protection is required.
