The INN3166C-H101-TL is an offline switcher power management solution that provides resilient AC-DC power conversion with excellent thermal performance and reliability. The INN3166C-H101-TL is a highly efficient, power density-optimized offline switcher. It is capable of providing up to 95% efficiency for AC input voltages ranging from 85-265 volts, with a wide selection of output power and current levels depending on the needs of the system. The INN3166C-H101-TL features isolation voltage between the input and output ports and is designed to provide superior reliability, thermal performance and scalability.
The INN3166C-H101-TL utilizes flyback topology and is uniquely capable of providing 12V to up to 24V output voltage. The power supply is suitable for applications such as industrial, medical equipment, whitegoods and house appliances, lighting and automotive applications. The flexibility of the power supply design allows it to be configured to meet the specific requirements of almost any application.
The active clamp flyback topology is the basis of the device’s operation. The circuit involving the INN3166C-H101-TL’s two power stages, the control, signal and power routing circuits, and the protection circuits are all interconnected. The primary side of the power supply generates the energy needed to charge the output capacitance during switching cycles. The secondary rectifier bridge rectifier is where the energy is passed on to the load. The energy stored in the output capacitance is then used to drive the load, eliminating the need for a filter inductor.
