Working Principle

The ISL54057IRUZ-T is a dual 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer with two single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switches. It consists of a control circuit, an on-chip voltage regulator, and an on-chip temperature-sensing circuit. The input of the control circuit receives two separate control signals, A and B, which are used to select an input signal from two separate input pins and output to a common output pin. The other two SPDT switches can be controlled by the same two control signals to select one input signal and output it to two different output pins. Both the multiplexer/demultiplexer and the two SPDT switches have a low on-resistance of 0.02Ω and high isolation of 75dB at 1MHz.

The voltage regulator receives the power supply voltage and provides a regulated supply voltage to the control and logic circuits. This serves to reduce noise and ensures an accurate switching threshold. The temperature-sensing circuit is used to protect the device from high temperature. The device will shut off when the internal temperature reaches the pre-set threshold.
