The ISL54502IHZ-T is an analog switch that occupies a unique position in the family of analog switches, multiplexers, demultiplexers and other kinds of analog interface solutions. The ISL54502IHZ-T is an ultra-low voltage, low power analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with a single control pin. Its major components are two independent 2-channel transmitters, two independent 2-channel receivers, and two independent 2-channel buffer amplifiers. It is ideal for high-speed differential signal switching and is fit for a variety of applications such as portable and embedded device controllers, data converters, low-power and precision analog-to-digital converters, and digital-to-analog converters.The ISL54502IHZ-T has some impressive characteristics. It has a low power consumption—only 5µA for untested conditions and 7µA for fully tested cases. Its package also has a small footprint and is only about 12 pin counts. It also has great impedance characteristics and a wide temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). It also has low on resistance, low capacitances and low off impedance, as well as a fast switching rate with minimal distortion.Additionally, the ISL54502IHZ-T is able to perform in noisy environments with anti-aliasing filters. Its selection of channels is controlled by a single Digital Input (DI) via level shifter. The active state of the selected channel can be set to HI or LO by the DI, while the inactive state will be set to the same voltage as the signal being switched. The ideal range of DI voltage is VDD to ground and logic low to logic high.In addition to its signal switching capabilities, the ISL54502IHZ-T also offers signal encoding, signal decoding, and logic functions. In signal encoding and decoding, the device is able to reduce the noise in the data transmission. On the other hand, the logic functions include a enable input, an inverted enable input, a MUX enable input, and an enable output which can be used to display digital information. The ISL54502IHZ-T also supports galvanic isolation. This means it can add an extra layer of protection to prevent noise interference when there is a difference in voltage level between the source and the target of the signal switching.The ISL54502IHZ-T works on the principle of an analog multiplexer/demultiplexer.
