Working Principle

The ISL6291-2CRZ works by taking in AC mains voltage and converting it to DC voltage that can be regulated and converted back to AC voltage. The AC voltage is regulated by a control algorithm that adjusts the input current to maintain the desired output voltage. The input AC voltage is rectified, filtered and then converted to DC voltage by the full bridge rectifier circuit. The DC voltage is then regulated by the control circuit and feedback loop. The regulation is achieved by controlling the current through the switches of the full bridge rectifier and the output inductor.

The output inductor helps to smooth out the output voltage waveform to produce a clean and regulated DC output. The current limiting feature of the ISL6291-2CRZ also helps to protect the battery from overcharging. It also has an integrated over-voltage protection feature that protects the charger and battery against excessive voltage spikes. In addition, the integrated nAdapter feature makes it possible to charge lead-acid batteries.
