The ISL6745AU is a complete, non-isolated PWM power management device. It integrates a pair of high-speed current mode single-ended MOSFET gate drivers, a low-drop linear regulator, and a high-side gate driver. The device is configured for a synchronous buck topology and operates from an input voltage range of 3.0V to 36V.

The device dynamically synchronizes the switching frequency to the output load. This allows it to shut down switching during light load conditions to avoid entering dropout and improve efficiency. The PWM controller includes adaptive on-time control and on-chip high frequency compensation to provide fast transient response. The adaptive on-time loop reduces switching losses without sacrificing loop stability.

The gate drivers contain a pair of high- and low-side gate drivers with dead time control and over-temperature protection. The HF Pause control reduces the switch frequency and captures the maximum power from the DC/DC converter. The controller also has short circuit protection to ensure the device’s reliability.
