ISL6755AAZA is a cost-effective DC/DC buck controller designed specifically for the high-performance desktop and mobile personal computer market. It is used to obtain higher efficiency and improved system protection by eliminating the external components normally required for dc/dc switching regulation control. The ISL6755AAZA incorporates a low output voltage error amplifier, an on-chip operational amplifier, an internal oscillator and a power MOSFET with a wide input voltage operating range of 3.3V to 40V.The ISL6755AAZA provides adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to 5V in either voltage mode or current mode operation. It has an integrated PWM converter with the ability to operate in CCM, DCM, and partial DCM mode. It is also capable of continuous, discontinuous, and switching frequency modulation when required to improve the power efficiency of the dc/dc converter.The ISL6755AAZA controller is ideal for buck-converter applications in areas such as notebooks, desktop PCs, digital audio players, game consoles, and other consumer electronics products. The average efficiency of the converter is improved by reducing the number of external components normally required to feed the controller with current feedback and voltage reference signals. In addition, the feedback voltage can be set by push-button or DAC output.The ISL6755AAZA has an on-chip voltage regulator and a fixed output sense resistor that provides the bias current necessary to operate the controller. It also has current overload protection and a built-in temperature sensor that can shut down the controller if the temperature rises above a certain threshold.In normal operation, the ISL6755AAZA maintains the output voltage and current with a high degree of accuracy.
