The ISL78220ANEZ is a DC/DC switching controller designed for DC/DC power conversion applications including Voltage Regulation Modules (VRMs), Point-of-Load (POL) regulators and low-power dc/dc converters. This controller can be used with a wide range of external switches, from low-cost MOSFETs to high-performance Power GaN™ devices, to deliver high-efficiency solutions to demanding customers. ISL78220ANEZ offers a complete solution with synchronous rectification and on-the-fly phase shedding to maximize efficiency, and thermal protection to keep the system safe. It has excellent line/load transient response, and has adjustable under-voltage lockout and full cycle-by-cycle current limit protection.

The ISL78220ANEZ operates in the automatic pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode to control output voltage regulation. It is ideal for low-power voltage regulation applications where the need for transient response and high efficiency is paramount. The ISL78220ANEZ features a high-performance voltage regulation loop with voltage and current limit protection. Overshoot detection triggers active or "hiccup" short circuit protection.

The ISL78220ANEZ features a low-jitter switching controller suitable for use with low-loss, low-amp internals. It provides excellent transient response, fast dynamic response and accuracy for the entire voltage range.
