<p>ISL8018DEMO1Z is an Evaluation Board DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS that aims to support engineers, whether they are beginners or experienced, with an opportunity to evaluate and design different types and models of DC/DC and AC/DC converters in off-line SMPS applications. It is powered by International Rectifier\'s feature-rich ISL8018 hybrid PWM controller IC which is capable of providing high-efficiency, low-noise and high-performance operation.</p><p>The 10-layer evaluation board is capable of supporting different supply and output voltages, depending on the user’s application requirements and preferences. It uses an 1A, 6KW Power Integrations flyback converter as the main device and a 600mA auxiliary winding for providing the feedback to the ISL8018 controller IC. The 0-36V input voltage range of the converter allows it to be used in both ac and dc applications. In addition, the board is also equipped with a Power OK LED indicator which signals when the output is within the pre-set values for the converter to operate reliably.</p><p>The converter board also includes supports for many different types of protection features including overload, overtemperature, overvoltage and undervoltage. These protection features are designed to protect both the ISL8018 hybrid PWM controller IC and the other components of the system from high temperatures, surge voltages, current fluctuations and more. Additionally, the ISL8018DEMO1Z Evaluation Board DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS also features an oscilloscope probe connector for easy monitoring of the system\'s performance.</p><p>The main working principle of the ISL8018DEMO1Z Evaluation Board DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS is based on the ability of the ISL8018 hybrid PWM controller IC to sense the input voltage of the supply and adjust its output accordingly.
