ISL8033IRZ-T is a low-noise synchronous DC-DC step-down voltage regulator targeted for applications such as sensors, wearables and IoT. It is designed to expand the power conversion portfolio of the PMIC – Voltage Regulators – DC DC Switching Regulators. The ISL8033IRZ-T is a Charge-Mode synchronous rectification DC-DC buck converter with constant current operation capability that is ideal for certain battery charging applications. It operates with input supply voltage ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V and provides an adjustable output voltage between 0.6V and 5V with output current up to 1A. The internal charge pump enabled by the built-in low side drivers makes it suitable for synchronous rectification buck converter applications with the power switch integrated resistor technique. The charge pump will drive the low side driver by pulling currents through the integrated resistors and maintaining a voltage drop.The built-in PMOS drivers are synchronised with the main supply to offer a wide range of switching frequency from 200 kHz to 2.2MHz. The current-mode loop allows an adjustment of the operating parameters for voltage or frequency selection. The average current mode control allows for an easy calibration of the desired output current level. The high predetermined fixed-frequency and peak-current mode allow for a fast transient response to line and load changes. This will ensure output voltage accuracy under the variation in part parameters caused by the effects of temperature. The internal compensation network helps to minimize the effort to design the external components and optimize the output ripple . The internal Comp Trim pin enables the designer to adjust the steady state output voltage as well as ensures stable loop operation over the operating temperature range.The output voltage accuracy can be improved by employing the external feedback loop compensation.The ISL8033IRZ-T has integrated under voltage lockout and over voltage protection circuitry to provide a safe operating range for the device. Other integrated features include cycle-by-cycle current limit, power good function, soft start and thermal shutdown.The ISL8033IRZ-T is available in an 8-pin thermally enhanced TSSOP package. It offers an efficient solution with reduced board space to extend system capability, performance and versatility.
