ISL89400ABZ is an integrated system PMIC - Gate Drivers that facilitates the management of power in space-constrained and battery powered applications, inlcuding radio frequency (RF) and DC-DC Power Converters. With its integrated gate-driving capability, the ISL89400ABZ is designed to directly drive power transistors, eliminating the need for an external gate drive circuit. ISL89400ABZ can prove to be highly capable in supporting a wide range of applications with its features, including startup and standby power management, thermal protection, adjustable frequency, and soft-start. At its core, ISL89400ABZ features an integrated gate driver controller and a high-speed and high-side high-voltage switch with input voltage range between 2V and 16V. This integrated driver controller is designed to replace an external gate driver circuit by providing adjustable gate drive current and adjustable charge pump current guaranteeing extremely high reliability in a wide range of operating conditions. When in use, the device is designed to provide low power dissipation in both transient and steady-state conditions, reducing thermal design requirements. As part of its integrated gate-driving capability, ISL89400ABZ is designed with a high-speed, high-side high-voltage switch which works by interrupting the current in the source of the main power switch. The switch offers a short turn-off time, reducing the overall power dissipation of the system. Furthermore, the switch is designed to reduce the power dissipation in both transient and steady-state conditions. To add to its features, ISL89400ABZ features an adjustable frequency and protection features, including over-voltage, over-temperature and over-current protection.
