K2400GHAP is a high power, higher voltage TRIAC. It is widely used for industrial applications such as motor speed controls, light dimmers, heater controls, and solenoid/valve controls.
Application Field
K2400GHAP can monitor, start and stop motors, lighting, heating and other industrial applications. The TRIAC can switch alternating current and can be used in systems with higher voltages, providing the necessary isolation and safety measures. K2400GHAP is also an ideal solution for switching operations in home and automotive applications.
K2400GHAP can be used with a variety of circuits including TRIAC, AC switching, DC switching, tripping, and other control applications. Working Principle
The working principle of the K2400GHAP is a two-element semiconductor device - a DIAC and a TRIAC, that can be play a key role in today\'s AC circuits. The DIAC helps to modify the ac sine wave to maintain current stability while the TRIAC alters and controls the voltage and current. The main component of the TRIAC is a pair of opposite-polarity thyristors, which are arranged with their main terminals on the same side.
When a voltage is applied to the gate of the device, the TRIAC will conduct in both directions with triggering. As the voltage starts to increase, the current through the TRIAC is limited by the device\'s Gate-Threshold voltage. Once the current reaches the device\'s current limit, the Gate-Threshold voltage is passed, and the TRIAC will enter full conduction.
When the TRIAC is in full conduction, it will continue to maintain a current and will remain in full conduction until the supply voltage is reduced or the device is turned off. This allows for the K2400GHAP to be used in applications where power must be delivered and maintained for a period of time.
When the TRIAC is turned off, the DIAC must be set to re-trigger the TRIAC. This is done by adjusting the DIAC\'s Gate-Threshold voltage. Once the voltage is adjusted, the TRIAC will re-trigger and operate as before.
In order to provide the necessary safety measures, the K2400GHAP includes several back-up features such as an over-current limit and temperature monitoring. This ensures that the device will continue to operate safely and reliably, even when power is applied for extended periods of time.
