KA7805AETU - PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear
The KA7805AETU is a three-terminal linear voltage regulator manufactured by KEC. It operates with an input voltage range of 3.0V to 40V and provides a regulated output which can range from 1.25V to 37V, depending on the selection of the appropriate model.
This LDO (Low Dropout) voltage regulator is used for applications such as providing stable and accurate voltage source for electronic circuits and devices. Working principle
The KA7805AETU works on the principle of voltage regulation. It is designed to provide a regulated output voltage, irrespective of the input voltage or resistance variations in downstream circuits.The input voltage is regulated to the required level by controlling the resistance of the power transistor connected to the input voltage. This is achieved by utilizing a differential amplifier which monitors the output voltage and then controls the resistance of the transistor accordingly.
The internal output voltage control circuit produces a linear output voltage by controlling the resistance of the power transistor. The differential amplifier senses the deviation between output voltage and the reference voltage (internally generated) and adjusts the resistance of the power transistor accordingly. This feedback mechanism ensures that the output voltage remains at the desired level despite variations in the input voltage.
The KA7805AETU voltage regulator also offers adjustable current limit to protect the load from excessive currents. The user can adjust the current limit by connecting a suitable resistor between the current limit control pin (ILIM) and the ground. The current limit for KA7805AETU is up to 1.3A.
