Evaluation Boards - Sensors have been used for a wide range of applications. One such application is the KITMPXSHOWEVK. This evaluation board is designed to measure and analyze mechanical properties of various materials and systems, such as resonance frequency, stiffness, damping coefficient, etc. In order to achieve this, it is equipped with various sensors, I/O port, temperature sensors, zero-power acceleration sensor, humidity and pressure sensor, load cell, etc. This evaluation board is widely used in many applications such as vibration testing, vibration analysis, structural health monitoring (SHM), laboratory testing, etc.
The working principle of KITMPXSHOWEVK is based on the dynamic tests of the material or the system. The dynamic tests are conducted by a signal generator and an oscilloscope with the help of specific sensors connected in the system. The signal generator is usually adjustable in terms of frequency, cutoff frequencies, etc. and produces the ideal signal for dynamic testing. Various sensors which includes load cells, force transducers, accelerometers, etc. are connected in the system and used to capture the response of the material or system due to the excitation. Data regarding the dynamic tests are gathered and analyzed by an oscilloscope.
The data gathered from the dynamic tests of the material are used to determine the mechanical properties of the material such as the resonance frequency, stiffness, damping coefficient, etc. The resonance frequency is the frequency at which the material vibration amplitude is maximum as a result of the excitation signal of the particular frequency. The stiffness and damping coefficient are the components which determine the behavior of a material under an external excitation. The stiffness is the ratio of the applied force to the resulting displacement or deformation while damping coefficient is a measure of the energy lost due to damping, i.e. friction between the material molecules.
KITMPXSHOWEVK evaluation board is able to measure these mechanical properties with the help of various sensors connected in the system. The Zero-Powered acceleration sensor is one of the most important sensors used in the system. This sensor is able to detect the displacement of the material when it undergoes a force. This information is then analyzed and compared with the input signal from the signal generator to determine the mechanical properties of the material. The temperature sensors are used to detect the temperature changes in different parts of the system so that the mechanical properties of the material can be adjusted and tuned depending on the ambient temperature.
The load cells are also connected in the system and are used to measure the force exerted on the material. This is very important because it helps to determine the stiffness and damping coefficient of the material. The humidity and pressure sensors are also used to measure the environmental conditions of the system in order to ensure that the system is performing in the desired parameters. All these sensors are connected to the evaluation board, which then processes and analyzes the data in order to determine the mechanical properties of the material.
