Kwikstik-K40 is a low-cost, high-performance evaluation board for embedded and microcontroller applications that are based on the Kinetis K40 microcontroller family from NXP. The Kinetis K40 family of microcontrollers are based on a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4F processor and provide powerful, low-power, and low-cost solutions to meet the needs of many consumer, industrial, and automotive designs. The KwikStik-K40 evaluation board is designed to provide an easy to use platform for exploring the features of the Kinetis K40 microcontroller family. This evaluation board comes with numerous peripherals, including USB, analog, timers, and digital I/O, to get you up and running quickly on your project.
The KwikStik-K40 evaluation board features the Kinetis K40 family of microcontrollers from NXP, which is based on an ARM Cortex-M4F processor. It offers highly integrated features such as DSP instructions, hardware-enforced security, and an NXP Security Monitor with 360-degree protection from attacks. In addition, the microcontroller family offers a wide range of memory and flash options, 40-pin GPIO module, and 12-channel analog-to-digital conversion. The KwikStik-K40 evaluation board also features an onboard CAN transceiver for easy connection to other nodes in an embedded system.
The KwikStik-K40 evaluation board is designed to work with the Keil MDK software development environment. This makes it easy for developers to create, debug, and optimize applications for the Kinetis K40 MCU family. The board includes a JTAG header which provides access to the On-Chip-Debugging (OCD) functions of the Kinetis K40 and includes support for the Segger J-Link debugger. The board is also compatible with the Kinetis Design Studio (KDS) development environment which provides an integrated suite of Eclipse-based development tools.
The KwikStik-K40 also includes an extensive list of peripherals to help developers get started quickly with their projects. These peripherals include three push buttons, two LEDs, a JTAG header for debugger connections, a USB connector, two timer/counter pins, two analog input pins, and one I/O pin. In addition, the evaluation board features a temperature sensor, an integrated low-dropout regulator, and a power control circuit to regulate power input from the USB connection. The board also includes two resistors and three capacitors to enable accurate and noise-free analog input from the board\'s pin.
