TRIAC (triode for alternating current) or thyristor is a three-terminal, solid-state semiconductor device that can be switched on and off with a current input. It is a three-terminal semiconductor device with three diodes arranged in a delta structure, most often referred to as an SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier).
