Working Principle

The working principle of the LAN9354I/ML is that when the node first boots up and requests an IP address, the Ethernet port that it is connected to will detect the request and send a response containing the IP address. The node will then connect to the network via the assigned IP address and communication packets will be exchanged between the node and the remote device.

The device will then start to identify the protocol used in the traffic and initiate the necessary actions. It binds the source and target address with appropriate port numbers and builds the connection including setting up the session. It continues to process the subsequent communication between the node and the remote device, which is known as the session.

The purpose of the session is to establish an authenticated communication channel over which data can be exchanged securely and reliable. The device then listens to the packet data and forwards it to the destination node or server based on the protocol. This process continues until the session is terminated.
