Working Principle

The LD1086D2T12TR linear voltage regulator utilizes a conventional design to deliver reliable, low-noise and low-dropout performance at a 3A load current. The integrated PNP pass transistor and P-Channel MOSFET provide low ground current and low output-end voltage loss in order to maintain the desired regulated output voltage at low dropout performance levels. The power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is excellent with a PSRR > 100dB, ensuring that noise on the input voltage is almost completely soiled out, preventing it from reaching the output stage of the regulator. To ensure thermal stability and extend the life span of the device, the device is equipped with a thermal-protection mechanism to prevent excessive temperatures from damaging the chip.
