Aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AEC) are a type of capacitor consisting of a metal surface and a layer of electric energy consisting of metal oxide and an electrolyte. AECs have a high capacitance-to-size ratio and can store much larger amounts of energy compared to other types of capacitors. This makes them ideal for use in a wide range of applications, including electronic circuits, power supply systems and signal processing. As such, AECs are used in a variety of fields, such as automotive, industrial, consumer, and medical applications.

The LGJ2G560MELA capacitor is an example of an AEC.
