Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a type of capacitor which uses electric double-layer capacitance and are especially suitable for use in filtering, drumming and non-interfere with communication circuits. The LGU2F331MELA is a miniature aluminum electrolytic capacitor that is designed to deliver excellent performance, a long life and outstanding reliability. It is especially suitable for use in applications where a combination of a low profile and a small size is required.The construction of the LGU2F331MELA is designed to maximize the energy efficiency and minimize the power loss associated with typical electrolytic capacitor designs. The aluminum electrolytic capacitor consists of two plates which form a capacitor dielectric, usually aluminum oxide. The aluminum oxide plate is typically formed by an electrochemical reaction between the aluminum plate and an electrolyte solution. The working principle of the LGU2F331MELA is based on the fact that when a voltage is applied across the plates of a capacitor, an electric field is created which is proportional to the applied voltage. The magnitude of the electric field is proportional to the crystal size of the aluminum oxide, and increased electric fields result in increased capacitance values. Along with voltage, temperature also has a distinct effect on capacitance. At higher temperatures, the crystal size of the dielectric is reduced, thus reducing the electric field, and hence reducing the capacitance value.The LGU2F331MELA has a typical operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, it has a rated voltage of 50V, a rated capacitance of 330uF and a leakage current of less than 0.01CV or 5uA. This capacitor is particularly well suited for use in low voltage, low power and high ripple current applications where energy efficiency and long life is desired. It is ideally suited to be used as an input filter, output filter, damping and de-coupling/suppression capacitor.The long life effective of the LGU2F331MELA is due to its unique design, which uses a combination of specially selected materials, combined with a highly efficient process technology to create a capacitor element with a much higher level of reliability and stability than is commonly found in other aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The design is further enhanced by the use of an optimized electrolyte solution containing the optimal concentration of surfactant, which is essential for ensuring high reliability over long periods of time.The LGU2F331MELA can be used in a wide range of applications, in both consumer electronics and industrial electronics. It can be used in low voltage, low power systems such as signal filters, as well as in high power systems such as power supplies and amplifiers.
