Solid State Relays (SSR), also called Solid State Contactors, are composed of an optically isolated input port, a driver circuit, and a solid-state switching element. They are able to directly control on/off states of electrical loads with no mechanical contacts or moving parts. With high switching frequency and long service life, solid state relays are used in a variety of control and automation applications.
LH1546AT, specifically designed for AC voltage control, is a type of SSR, which has a zero-cross on/off control. LH1546AT features isothermal heat dissipation design, compliant with international standard, fast response time, and low drive current. Throughout all these advantages, LH1546AT excels in industrial automation applications, where high accuracy and stability are key.
The working principle of LH1546AT is based on a triac trigger mechanism. It is triggered by voltage across it anode and cathode. In the zero-crossing region, the current in the triac will remain low until the anode voltage exceeds the gate voltage. Once this voltage is exceeded, the triac will fire and current to activate the load. Because the triac has very low turn-off firing current, the triac can be turned off at any point in the low voltage portion of the a.c. cycle. Since firing is triggered at zero voltage and the turn-off current is low, it is possible to control loads with a high degree of accuracy and stability.
