Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are amongst the most commonly used type of capacitor and is used to store a very large amount of electric charge. The LKSN2392MESZ is a compact profile, aluminum electrolytic capacitor from the manufacturer Luxon. With its small size, the LKSN2392MESZ is ideal for fitting in PCBs with limited space. LKSN2392MESZ is designed to be used in applications such as instrumentation, regulators, filters and decoupling circuits.

The working principle behind the LKSN2392MESZ is based on the use of two plates (each composed of two layers) separated by the dielectric material. One plate comprises the anode and the other plate comprises the cathode (the plus and minus terminals respectively). Electric current moves between the two plates which builds up a charge in the capacitor. The amount of charge stored in the capacitor is affected by a variety of factors including the temperature, size, tolerance of the capacitor and the applied voltage.

The capacitance of the LKSN2392MESZ is 3500 μF at 75° Celsius with a voltage rating of 20V. It provides around 72% of minium capacitance at 85°C that it is qualified for, indicating a wide range of design flexibility for applications in consoles, cell phones, memory modules, and more.

The casing is resin sealed and the capacitor is hermetically sealed which offers a reliable and cost efficient solution. The Tannin film and Dupont electrolyte provide excellent leakage and high reliability. Overall, the device features a long lifespan of 100,000 hours. Its maximum operating temperature is extended up to 105°C, which furthers its suitability for applications in harsh environment.
