This device includes a number of features that make it well suited for a wide range of general dc-to-dc buck conversion applications, from mobile phones to point-of-load regulation in computer systems and other consumer products. </p> <h4>Application Field</h4> <p>The LM22675MRX-ADJ/NOPB is optimized for cost-sensitive, space-limited, high-efficiency applications such as consumer electronics, mobile handsets, computing, communication and industrial systems. It is ideal for any applications requiring multiple output rails and small form factor dc-to-dc solutions, such as PC mainboard, LCD monitor, power over Ethernet (PoE) systems, wireless local area networks (WLANs), and high-end video application. </p> <h4>Working Principle</h4> <p>The LM22675MRX-ADJ/NOPB works in a synchronous buck mode. The regulator uses an integrated synchronous regulator configuration to provide high efficiency over the entire range of switch current without the cutoff current of the non-synchronous regulator. The integrated MOSFETs on the die can save up to 70% of the total BOM cost on the circuit board, minimize the external inductor size, eliminate the need for external Schottky diodes, and reduce the form factor of the overall solution. The integrated low-side MOSFET also reduces switching losses. </p> <p>The LM22675MRX-ADJ/NOPB is able to provide good transient performance in heavy output load conditions with its fast response time and high frequency operation. With the low-bias 2.2uA current, the device can allow excellent light load efficiency, meeting the requirement of energy-efficient system designs. The stable current limit of the device even in heavy loading conditions also reduces the need for an external current-sense element, lowering the cost of the system. </p> <p>The adjustable output voltage can be controlled either via an external voltage divider or by using a dedicated mid-voltage pin that can be actively monitored during the switching cycle to provide a more stable output voltage. </p> </li></ul>
