The LM231N is a versatile Voltage-to-Frequency and Frequency-to-Voltage (V/F and F/V) converter, designed for precision low-level applications. It is designed to provide a high degree of accuracy, low noise and high output stability. The LM231N is a very versatile device and can be used in a variety of applications ranging from generic low-level signal conversion to advanced applications such as integrated circuit test and instrumentation. The LM231N is ideal for those applications which require an accurate, low-noise and reliable voltage-to-frequency or frequency-to-voltage (V/F and F/V) conversion solution.The LM231N is a precision, low-level Voltage-to-Frequency and Frequency-to-Voltage (V/F and F/V) converter. The LM231N is a monolithic IC and it is fabricated using the BiCMOS integrated circuit technology. The device consists of a precision voltage reference, a voltage-to-frequency/frequency-to-voltage converter, a high-speed comparator, an oscillator and output buffer amplifier. The signal source can be either dc voltage or ac frequency. The LM231N is designed to accept a wide range of input voltage or frequency signal levels. The input signal is first compared against the reference voltage. The difference between the signal level and reference level is then converted into an equivalent frequency or voltage signal by the output buffer amplifier. The output signal is then transferred to the output pins. The LM231N is designed to operate over an extended temperature range and requires no external components. It offers an excellent output accuracy and stability and is designed to provide maximum output flexibility. The device also incorporates power supply rejection circuitry which reduces the effect of power supply noises on the output signal. Another feature of the LM231N is its low noise operation. It uses advanced BiCMOS integrated circuit technology to reduce the effect of system noise. The device is also designed to minimize the effect of ambient light and noise on the output signal. The LM231N is an ideal solution for a variety of low-level signal conversion applications. It is well suited for applications such as medical, aerospace and industrial instrumentation, embedded systems, low-level system conversions and audio signal processing.
