LM346M is a kind of operational amplifier, and operational amplifiers are linear integrated circuits mainly used for signal processing. This device belongs to instrumentation amplifier and operates in monostable and bistable circuits.LM346M is one of the most commonly used and trusted devices for performing a variety of operations, especially for low noise, medium power and low voltage applications. As a high performance amplifier, it is not only used for signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion and signal output, but also for complex instrumentation.
When it comes to its working principle, LM346M can be regarded as a three-stage differential amplifier, with the three stages from input stage, gain stage, and output stage. In its input stage, four input buffers protected against any high voltages, and those signals come from the reference voltage, the inverting input and the non-inverting input. Then the signal goes to the gain stage, where a differential amplifier amplifies the signal. At last, a non-inverting amplifier with gain is built in the output stage. Generally, the amplifier open-loop gain hovers around 1000x and the frequency range is up to 100kHz. Moreover, it offers a DC common-mode voltage range which is twice as wide as the standard amplifiers. Owing to those advantages, LM346M can be applied in different situation, such as temperature control systems, biometric applications and robotic applications.
Talking about its application fields, LM346M is mainly used for signal conditioning and buffering, linear amplification and signal output. It can be used for biometric applications. For example, it can be used for signal conditioning and signal amplification of electromyography, photoplethysmography, heartbeat and so on. Besides medical applications, LM346M can also be used in a wide range of industrial control and monitoring processes, where strong linear amplification is required. Additionally, in AC current measurement, LM346M is also widely applied to adjust the current which is dependent on the vector diagram of the transformer.
