The LM5115AMT/NOPB is a wide input voltage range, current-mode monolithic buck switching regulator controller designed with advanced current-mode architecture and designed to offer the low noise and high performance advantages of current-mode operation. It can be used to drive an external high-side and low-side N-Channel MOSFET buck switch to generate an output voltage as low as 0.82V from an input voltage of 3.0 V to 36V. The device is programmable for phototransistor and fixed frequency operation.

This monolithic buck switching regulator controller from Texas Instruments is highly efficient and optimizes the power and space requirements of battery-powered, cost-sensitive applications. It cab manage a 5A continuous drain from the battery without heat sinking, which makes it suitable for low-power applications such as USB, RF communications, wearable and IoT devices.

The LM5115AMT/NOPB has a wide input voltage range of 3 V to 36 V, adjustable output voltage range of 0.82 V to 5.5 V and a maximum output current of 5 A. It supports on-time as short as 20 ns and an adjustable frequency up to 2.1 MHz. This controller also has a 1.5A peak switch current limit that helps to reduce load voltage ripple and improve system performance characteristics.

The LM5115AMT/NOPB can be used in a wide range of applications including digital audio, mobile phones, tablet PCs, portable multimedia devices, gaming consoles and headless PCs. In addition, this controller is software compatible with the LM5115ACM and LMR5115 devices. It is available in an 8-pin SOIC-8 package which makes it suitable for board-level applications.
