The LM6171BIMX is an instrumentation amplifier capable of providing both high bandwidth and high input common-mode range. A pair of amplifier stages is employed and connected such that the current through the two input pins is balanced and the voltage between them is comparably high, even when a very large differential input voltage is applied. This makes the LM6171BIMX a great choice for high voltage differential applications, such as precision measurement and sensor signal conditioning.
It is also an ideal choice for noise-sensitive, low-level signals, such as those found in high-resolution audio applications. The device is designed to accurately amplify small signals while remaining stable and robust, even when large throw asymmetrical input signals are present. In addition, the LM6171BIMX can be operated with a single power supply, while still providing excellent Common Mode Rejection, making it ideal for small-form-factor applications.
The LM6171BIMX offers a wide bandwidth of 1MHz and can be used for low frequency signal reconstruction as well as high-speed sampling applications. The wide Gain Bandwidth Product (GBWP) of 1.1MHz allows for fast, precision signal reconstruction of a wide range of signals. High input common-mode range of ±25V helps reduce distortion of low frequency signals. The LM6171BIMX is also capable of up to 5.5V of output swing with a ±15V analog supply.
The LM6171BIMX offers excellent input impedance and Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR). Input bias current is typically only 270nA, which helps reduce distortions caused by input overload and drift in the input stage. CMRR performance is very good over a wide range of frequencies, allowing for precise signal definition and dynamic range. The device also offers dynamic compensation, allowing it to remain stable, even when large swings of input voltage are applied.
The LM6171BIMX has very low offset voltage and drift. This low drift helps reduce fluctuations in the output voltage caused by temperature variations. In addition, it offers excellent gain accuracy and temperature stability over temperature and power supply voltage variations.
