The LM809M3-4.38/NOPB is a voltage supervisor IC designed by Texas Instruments and part of their PMIC – Supervisors family.

The LM809M3-4.38/NOPB can be used to protect sensitive components from excessive voltages by continuously monitoring a reference voltage. In the event that the voltage exceeds the voltage threshold set by an external resistor, the LM809M3-4.38/NOPB will initiate an active low reset signal. The reset signal can then be used to reset any connected components, allowing for more reliable operation.

The LM809M3-4.38/NOPB has four main pins: VCC (power supply voltage); Ground; Reference; and Reset.

The VCC pin is used to supply power to the supervisor IC. The Ground pin is used to return the power back to the power supply. The Reference pin is used to apply a reference voltage to the voltage supervisor; this voltage is used to compare the voltage at VCC.
