LM94022BIMG/NOPB is a temperature sensors designed for both analog and digital output applications. It uses an integrated circuit (IC) to detect the ambient temperature and then converts it into a proportional analog voltage. The IC uses an embedded heating element, which runs on the same circuit, to provide temperature compensation. This temperature-compensated voltage is then fed into the analog output stage of the IC, where it is converted into a proportional digital signal.

This temperature sensing device comprises of two major integrated circuit components, an analog rectifying diode and a transistor amplifier. The rectifying diode is intended to convert a continuous voltage signal from the positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC) into a rectified direct current (DC) signal. This DC signal is then processed by the transistor amplifier to form an amplified AC signal. This amplified AC signal then provides the analog output voltage.

Furthermore, the analog voltage provided by the device can be adjusted using the three-terminal adjustable parameter resistor called an external reference.
