LMC555CMMX is a programmable timer and oscillator introduced by National Semiconductor Corporation in 1999. This device is a CMOS version of the classic 555 timer. It is a low-power,stable, precision timer and oscillator with the same pin configuration as the standard 555 timer. The device is supplied in a space-saving 5-pin C-MOS mini-flatpack package, which allows it to be used in many applications requiring temperature stability and low power dissipation.

The LMC555CMMX device is a versatile 8-bit programmable timer and oscillator device. It can be used in a wide range of applications including frequency synthesis, digital communications and control systems, waveform generators, clocking circuitry, noise generation, phasing and amplitude control, and analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion.

The LMC555CMMX can operate in many different modes, including astable (non-resetting), monostable (resetting), and bistable (feedback). In astable mode, the device acts as an oscillator, producing a continuously repeating waveform based on specific “on” and “off” times.
