The LMV721M5 is a high precision, single-supply CMOS operational amplifier available in the 1.2mm x 1.6mm WSON package. This amplifier features rail-to-rail output and input voltage specifications which make it well-suited for low voltage applications such as battery-powered and portable medical instrumentation. Furthermore, this amplifier consumes as little as 0.8μA quiescent supply current and is stable with any capacitive load up to 1000pF.
The amplifier operation is based on output transistors configured in a unique common-source complementary output stage, which minimizes distortion and provides a low output offset voltage. The output stage includes extra transistors to form the body-diode cancellation circuit which reduces distortion. To guarantee high accuracy, a bandgap reference is used in the input stage to sense the input offset voltage. This offset voltage is trimmed to a maximum value of 0.1mV with the use of a thin-film resistor.
The LMV721M5\'s extremely low input offset voltage, low bias current, and high input impedance make it useful for a wide range of precision linear applications. Examples include converting signals from low-level resistive and capacitive transducers, or amplifying signals with a high voltage gain in applications such as medical instrumentation, test stands, consumer electronics, etc.
