The LMV7239M7X is an analogue-to-digital (A/D) comparator and is a member of the Texas Instruments Opto-Linear (OL) linear-comparator family. With an excellent 1.65 µV comparator offset, a fast 4.9 ns switching time and low power consumption, the LMV7239M7X is ideal for applications that require fast and accurate signal conditioning. The LMV7239M7X offers an input-to-output delay of 18.4 ns, ensuring that the signal conditioning task can be completed in a timely and efficient manner. Additionally, it features a wide input common-mode voltage range of -14 V to +14 V, allowing it to be used in a variety of applications.
The LMV7239M7X is designed for use in many different applications, from automotive to industrial control and from digital signal processing (DSP) to power supplies, and even in portable devices. The LMV7239M7X is capable of detecting small differences between two input signals up to 18 V and is particularly useful for applications such as measuring temperature variations, monitoring voltage levels and switching on/off relays. The working principle of the LMV7239M7X is based on the open-collector comparator comparison method. The comparator compares the two input signals AIN+ and AIN- and produces a digital output (OUT) based on the comparison between the two inputs. When the positive input (AIN+) is greater than the negative input (AIN-), the digital output of the comparator goes high (1) and when the positive input is less than the negative input, the digital output of the comparator goes low (0). This method of digital output switching is very useful for applications requiring high signal accuracy such as temperature monitoring, voltage level detection and relay switching.
The LMV7239M7X features a tolerance of ±1.65 μV of input offset error and a high resolution of 4 bits, which allows for high accuracy when switching digital output. Additionally, it has a fast response time of 4.9 ns, making it well suited for fast signal processing tasks.
