It is specifically designed for applications requiring low power, low jitter, ultra high frequency performance.The LMX2531LQX1950/NOPB is a multi-band RF synthesizer with Output divider and fractional-N PLL, providing the highest output frequency and highest accuracy achievable from any integrated synthesizer in the market today. It offers superior output jitter performance and programmable frequency range from 53 MHz to 950 MHz (at 1.8 V supply). The device is capable of generating up to 9 different output dividers/ multipliers providing maximum operating flexibility. The integrated PLL makes it ideal for applications such as cellular wireless basestations, radar systems, test & measurements, microwave transceivers and dongles, LTE and WiMAX basestations.The LMX2531LQX1950/NOPB consists of a fractional-N Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) coupled with a low-jitter Low-Noise Crystal Oscillator (LXO). The combined PLL and LXO provide an ultra high frequency (UHF) synthesizer with superior output stability and jitter performance. This provides a wide range of outputs from low frequency to ultra high frequency allowing a single product to satisfy multiple applications. The PLL consists of two main blocks, a Frequency Control Division Block (FCD) and a Fractional-N modulator. The FCD defines a frequency spread and the Fractional-N modulator allows the output frequency to be varied within the defined frequency spread. The combination of FCD and Fractional-N modulation allows accurate control of the output frequency.The LXO contains a crystal oscillator, a frequency divider and a series of programmable digital frequency dividers. The frequency divider decreases the frequency before passing it through to the FCD. The jitter performance of the oscillator is improved significantly by passing the frequency of the output through a series of digital frequency dividers.The complex Phased-Locked Loop (PLL) allows the user to program the specific frequency and multiplier to achieve the desired frequency. The synthetic frequency is generated by multiplying the output of the FCD with a programmable multiplier, which is the output form of the reverse loop.The LMX2531LQX1950/NOPB provides superior output jitter and frequency accuracy and is ideal for a wide range of applications requiring ultra high frequency synthesis.
