Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are characterized by very high capacitance, excellent temperature characteristics and long life, making them suitable for use in a wide range of applications, ranging from low power signal conditioning to power factor correction in high power AC/DC systems. The LNT1J224MSEN series aluminum electrolytic capacitors are primarily used in high-density products such as notebook computers, LCD TV, photocopiers, automotive electronics and telecom/datacom power supplies. They are designed to operate at temperatures up to 105°C with a life expectancy of 1000 to 3000 hours depending on the ambient temperature. They feature excellent ripple current and impedance characteristics and are tested to the toughest standards for use in demanding switching power supply applications. The LNT1J224MSEN series aluminum electrolytic capacitors feature an innovative multi-sectioned aluminum anode construction with a series of two alternating positive and negative plates separated by dielectric material. This feature allows for a much greater capacitance to size ratio than traditional capacitors. The anode and cathode connections are made through large sized top and bottom plates which makes them suitable for a wide range of applications. The electrolyte is composed of a mixture of polyethylene glycol (PEG), propylene glycol (PG), and various organic and inorganic acids. This combination is used to ensure a balanced electrolyte system with an acceptable level of solubility, electrolyte strength, and reliability.The LNT1J224MSEN series aluminum electrolytic capacitors are designed to operate at high ripples or frequencies. The capacitive elements are constructed to have an extremely high resistance to phase shift and are capable of handling peaks of current up to 20 times the rated DC current. The capacitors feature excellent filtering performance and low ESR for use in switch mode rectifier and inverter circuits. In terms of their working principles, aluminum electrolytic capacitors are generally composed of a cathode and an anode which are installed inside the dielectric material.
