Application Field

Working Principle

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors operate on the principle of electrical charge separation. An electrical charge is created between two electrode plates when placed in a solution of electrolyte. When an electrical voltage is applied to the plates, an electric current is created, which causes a current flow between the electrodes. This current separates the charge between the two plates, resulting in a build-up of charge, a phenomenon known as polarization.

The buildup of charge between the plates forms an electrostatic field, which creates a polarized electric field that prevents further current flow between them. The charge stored in this electric field is known as capacitance, which is represented by the letter C. The higher the capacitance, the more charge stored in the electric field, and the higher the performance of the capacitor.
