Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs) are electronic devices designed to control and monitor power conversion designs. Supervisors are one type of PMIC, specially designed to protect circuits from incorrect or overvoltage conditions by opening the supply line to prevent damage. With the superior reliability and robustness, low input voltage threshold accuracy, low power, and fast response time, the LP3470IM5-4.38 supervisor devices are widely used in numerous system applications.The LP3470IM5-4.38 is an adjustable low dropout (LDO) supervisor with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, which makes it an ideal solution for system applications that require a safe power supply. The device can support an input voltage range of 2.9 V to 15 V and has an adjustable output voltage range from 0.5 V to 6.5 V. The device provides capacitor-adjustable active-low and active-high reset signals for system reset, power-up/power-down sequences, and protection for microcontrollers.The LP3470IM5-4.38 supervisor is designed to protect against power faults and overvoltage conditions, which makes it ideal for use in automotive, telecom, portable products and other systems. Its integrated N-channel MOSFET provides an output disconnect feature, and its internal open-drain circuitry has the capability to provide a reset signal if the power supply fails or drops below the preset threshold. The LP3470IM5-4.38 supervisor has a wide variety of reset characteristics, including power-on reset (POR), manual reset (MR), windowed watchdog timer (WDT), adjustable watchdog timer (AWDT) and power-down reset (PDR). The reset pulse width is adjustable with the RESET pin and can be configured to different timeout intervals with the INT# pin. The device offers a total power-on reset maintain voltage, adjustable power-on reset voltage level and separate power-on and power- dost thresholds. The LP3470IM5-4.38 also features a Power-ok (POK) output that notifies the system of an acceptable power supply. The POK output is a fast active-low signal indicating when the input voltage is above the POK voltage threshold. If a fault condition is detected, the POK output will remain inactive until the input voltage returns above the POK threshold or until the reset pin is manually reset or the watch dog timer expire and reset. The LP3470IM5-4.38 supervisor is designed to have low quiescent current and very low power consumption, which makes it ideal for use in portable and battery powered applications. The device supports two voltage references, an external reference and an internal reference, providing a wide range of output voltage options.
