LT1640LIS8#PBF is a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) under Texas Instruments\' Hot Swap Controllers product line. It is designed for eliminating circuit damages and providing protections to downstream components caused by unwanted hot-swapping of loads. In addition, LT1640LIS8#PBF also acts a voltage shunt to provide overvoltage and undervoltage protection and supervising when loads are connected or disconnected.

The LT1640LIS8#PBF contains all the circuitry required to achieve undervoltage protection, overvoltage protection, current limit, and fault status signal. The integrated circuit integrates a power pass element that is protected by current-limit and thermal-shutdown circuitry. This pass element allows approximately 18A of current to flow with a 0.03 ohm sense resistor. An internal slew-rate control helps to minimize current transients when the fault signal is activated. By connecting an external MOSFET to the output of the device, the user can further increase the current protection without compromising speed or transient response.via Analog
