The LT3433IFE#PBF is a monolithic dual-output step-down converter with a 100mA low-side switch. The device is a constant-frequency, peak current mode device with an adjustable switching frequency of 100 kHz to 2.25 MHz using an external resistor. The switching frequency is managed by a frequency control loop that also adjusts soft start and foldback regulation, as well as over-current and short-circuit protections. Its precision voltage regulation is obtained by using a bandgap reference and an internal error amplifier. The voltage levels are accurately regulated by two pulse-width modulators, enabling two external NFETs, in the low- side configuration, for asynchronous switching.

The output voltage is provided by an integrated complete power stage, with a low resistance NFET providing a supply current of up to 100mA. Additionally, external components can be used to further optimize the output voltage. The short-circuit and over-current protection is done by sensing the current flowing in the inductor. The feed-forward control loop monitors the voltage at the output for accurate regulation.
