LT3437EDD#PBF is a high-performance, low-input voltage, synchronous step-down switch regulator from LT. It operates from an input voltage of 2.25V up to 6.0V, and delivers up to 5A continuous output current to the load. The device supports a wide range of flexible power saving and intelligent power regulation modes, such as AutoDoze and Spread Spectrum. The device also supports pin selectable multiple switching frequencies of 500kHz, 1MHz and 2MHz.

Application Field

The LT3437EDD#PBF is designed for point-of-load regulation in high current applications. It is widely used in notebook computers, wireless base station applications, medical systems, industrial control and instrumentation, telecom systems, and in automotive and auxiliary systems. Working Principle

The LT3437EDD#PBF implements a buck converter topology. It drives an external N-Channel MOSFET switch which then steps down the input voltage and regulates the output voltage to within its specified accuracy. The MOSFET switch operates at the fsw frequency determined by the device’s frequency selection pin (FSEL) and the associated internal oscillator. The device utilizes the input voltage to adjust the duty cycle of the switch to regulate its output voltage. The LT3437EDD#PBF also features internal compensation for optimal load and line regulation. It has features such as programmable soft-start, overvoltage and overcurrent protection, as well as thermal shutdown protection.
