The LT3467IS6#TRMPBF is a synchronous step-down switching regulator and ideal diode controller. It is designed specifically to replace an inefficient linear regulator, inefficient diode and power transistor combo, or a inefficient buck switching regulator with a much more efficient, simple to use, and the highest power density solution. This product is specialized to achieve maximum efficiency, while keeping low noise and thermal performance in mind. It is capable of delivering up to 1A of continuous output current, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
This device features a small and simple to use Buck/Boost regulator, an ideal diode feature, and a few other features that make this a complete top-to-bottom low-power solution. The synchronous step-down switching regulator or Buck converter offers vastly superior efficiency over a linear regulator or diode and transistor combo. It is capable of delivering up to 94% of power efficiency, or up to 87% power efficiency when operating in a reduced cycle mode. Additionally, the LT3467IS6#TRMPBF features a low quiescent current mode and an adjustable output current limit.
The ideal diode controller feature offers increased power conversion efficiency and reduced power loss, a typical feature of buck conduction mode regulators. It is also capable of transferring power back and forth, and can be used to enable pre-charge and discharge of the output capacitor when a voltage difference between two supply sources is greater than a pre-programmed voltage level.
