LT3507AIFE is a current mode pulse width modulation (PWM) DC/DC 4-channel synchronous switching regulator used for power-management applications.
The device supports a wide input voltage range from 4.5 V to 24V and provides four synchronous step-down DC/DC-converter channels. One of the PWM channels is designed as an output current limit control, while the remaining three are designed to control output voltages. By using three additional control inputs, the output voltage and current can be adjusted both in steady state and transient conditions. This allows for flexible power supply architectures and makes the LT3507AIFE adaptable for various applications.

Working Principle

When the high-side switch is on, the input voltage is applied to the inductor, causing it to store energy in the form of a magnetic field. When the high-side switch is turned off, the stored energy is drawn from the inductor and applied to the output capacitor, resulting in a step-down in the output voltage. The cycle repeats as long as power is required, resulting in a regulated and steady output voltage.
Flexible Output Voltage and Current Control
The LT3507AIFE offers a wide range of output voltage settings with flexible external control. The output voltage can be adjusted via external voltages or resistor dividers, depending on the application. In addition, all three output channels have their own output current limit controlling inputs and a programmable soft start.
