This process occurs continuously, resulting in a steady output voltage.

The circuit includes overtemperature protection and overcurrent protection, along with input overvoltage and undervoltage protection circuitry. In addition, the device includes a high-impedance discharge pin which allows the stored energy in the output capacitor to be safely discharged.
