The control loop ensures the voltage stays regulated at the set point determined by the user. It consists of a comparator, operational amplifier and error amplifier. The VOLTAGE OUT terminal is monitored by a sense resistor, divider circuit, or comparator with hysteresis as a reference. The output voltage feedback is passed through the error amplifier to the PWM Comparator in the pulse width modulator. The PWM Comparator then compares the feedback voltage to an internal reference voltage and the result of this comparison produces the PWM signal to control the power switch.The error amplifier adjusts the duty cycle of the Power switch, taking into account the current load condition. The PWM rate is adjustable through an external resistor, which is connected to the frequency control pin that- sets the switching frequency.
