Working Principle

The LT3757EDD#PBF employs a peak current mode control architecture with both synchronous and nonsynchronous rectifier drive capability. It uses a fixed frequency oscillator. At each switching cycle a high side and low side NMOS switch are turned on and current starts flowing through the inductor. A current sense resistor samples the inductor current. The voltage drop across the current sense resistor is compared with the reference voltage, and when the load current approaches the maximum peak current limit, the high side switch turns off and current stops flowing through the inductor. The voltage stored in the inductor is then dropped across the low side switch and the diode.
