The LX1555ID is a high-efficiency DC-DC controller designed to drive two external NMOS FETs to provide step-down regulation from a high-voltage analog (10V-60V) rail. It is a member of the LX1555 series of DC-DC controllers, the industry’s most efficient and capable controllers.

The LX1555ID is designed for applications such as point of load (POL) supplies for CPUs, ASICs, DSPs and other light loads, as well as for powering from high-voltage batteries or backup power supply sources. It features switch current and voltage regulation, pulse-by-pulse current limiting, synchronous rectification (active-high), and an adjustable soft-start. The LX1555ID also incorporates an embedded voltage feedback regulation based on average current mode control (I2Avg) with a wide duty cycle support range, highly accurate duty cycle, and fast transient response.

The LX1555ID achieves high efficiency through the use of its on-board syncFET™ controller and its average current mode control. This enables the controller to maintain stable and precise load regulation over the load range from light load conditions up to full load. The syncFET® controller also ensures fast transient response of the load, reducing the output voltage overshoot to nearly zero.

The LX1555ID is a complete hardware solution, employing a dedicated pin interface to allow the user to program the output voltage as well as the frequency, duty cycle, current limit, and soft-start.
